Welcome!

Hello e-nthusiast, welcome to Cruiser * Racer. I'm RebelLion of the Electron Rebel MBC. This blog shares with you my love for electric bicycle technology. This Blog is dedicated to builders who found it hard to find solid information on the dynamics of building a DIY e-Bike. As a builder, I learned a few lessons along the way. I want to share the lesson I've learned with you. My hope is to build a community of like-minded e-nthusiast who share information to help others better understand the dynamics that can't be found across the wire.

Jeep Has Skin In The E-Bike Game

 Bike Talk v.016 🚲

QuietKat Presents The Jeep Ranger E-bike

Coined as the most capable off-road electric mountain bike in existence. The Jeep Quietkat Ranger electric bike made its debut during the 2020 Super Bowl and was made available for retail sales in June of the same year.

Truly a unique bike, it was built for the outdoors first and the trail second. This is one very durable bike, let's start with the shoes.

You know what they say about a bike with big shoes, right? It's a beast off road!

But, really the 26" wheel base and 4.8" Fat All-Terrain tires are meant to handle most extreme routes. The durable frame and girthy tires allow a 300lb payload capacity while the e-bike weights a total of 79lbs.

An Ultra Mid-Drive Motor

Insiders are calling this bike " the most capable off-road electric mountain bike there is ". After performing more research on the Jeep e-bike, I understand why.

The Jeep e-bike  was the creation of QuietKat electric bikes. QuietKat produced several powerful electric bikes before the Jeep e-bike. QuietKat earned a working relationship with the Jeep Brand personally. You may have seen the Jeep logo on e-bikes in the past.

However, the brand assure us all the Jeep QuietKat Ranger is the first e-bike ever to have earned the name the and rights carry the Jeep Brand Logo.

 The Ultimate Performance Vehicle

The mid-drive motor has a removeable thumb throttle, and starts at 750W. There is an upgrade option of 1000W and with the pedal assist as well as the assistance from the 9 Speed Drivetrain, you could achieve 1500W peak output.

That's a difference of 28MHP with 1000W and 45MPH for 1500W. This is possible due to the Torque Sensor which send an electric charge to the drivetrain when it senses a steady and strong cadence. There's also a 2 Speed Sensor that communicates to the pedal assist system, telling it when to move forward.

The Pedal Assist has 10 levels, allowing the bike to configure to either of the "Three-Classification" for e-bikes. The 10 levels assist also help to average the 45-50 miles per charge. Should you want to go 100 miles per charge, just add an additional battery.

So, the 9-speed drive train give the gears the gas necessary to climb boulders, mountain sides, and steep hills. The 4 Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes are what give the two wheel Jeep navigational precision when descending from the climb.

However, the brakes don't work alone! Oh no!

The Fire-Link Suspension System, provides the ultimate traction capability on any terrain, rear RockShox Monarch RL  are accompanied with front QuietKat Inverted Air Fork.

It's also worth mentioning, the Jeep is sized at 17" S/M and 19" M/L frames.

When I think of a future adventure I plan to take, riding the Trans American Bicycle Trail. I would totally use the Jeep QK Ranger. This bike would handle the terrain like a knife cutting through butter. Capable of treading over rocky mounds, and slicing through beach sand.

I don't know, with my lack of experience and perseverance, I could probably conquer the TABT in one year tops. What do you think?
